Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the last five games to go ahead.

The opponent rescued four early-game break points in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
